BRADFORD - prediction No Overall Control, result Labour Gain
Although Labour only needs to win 2 seats to take control of Bradford it is difficult to be sure that they will do it.
They should win Bowling and Barkerend ward from the Conservatives as they did reasonably comfortably in 2011 and 2012 but have not made much progress in Thornton and Allerton ward or in Worth Valley where they should be challenging the Conservatives.
They won Eccleshill from the Lib Dems in 2011 but not in 2012 so they cannot be sure of a gain here. The BNP are defending Queensbury ward but should lose it now – Labour was only 3% behind the Conservative here in 2012 but UKIP were also close and may take the ward as well.
Arguments within the Respect Party should limit its challenge to Labour now.
