CRAWLEY - prediction and result Labour gain
This new town constituency is one of the key parliamentary constituencies that Labour needs to win and the Conservatives have a majority of 3 on the council with only the two main parties represented.
Labour should win Broadfield South and West Green without any problem to take control and Ifield is also a strong possibility as they won it narrowly in 2011 and comfortably in 2012. Southgate is also a ward they should be taking from the Conservatives but the latter held on, if narrowly, in 2011 and 2012 and may do again.
UKIP had their best result in the Gossops Green and Ifield East ward in the county council elections but there is no election in the Gossops Green district ward this year and Labour still won the county ward comfortably.
