BARNET - prediction and result Conservative hold
The Conservative have a majority of 15 on the council. They will hope to win Childs Hill from the Lib Dems.
The three sitting Lib Dem councillors have held the ward for some time and, as this is their only prospect in the borough, the Lib Dems will have been able to put all their efforts in here, but two are standing down this time and their personal vote may go with them.
Coppetts and Underhill were split between Labour and the Conservative in 2010 and so Labour should win these while Hale would also go to Labour on a 4% swing. Labour would need to win East Barnet to deny the Conservatives control of the council but at a 7.5% swing this may be too difficult.
