BRIT POLITICS NEWS RELEASE: Interested in General Election 2015? Apply to be one of our junior writers

Are you a politics enthusiast closely following General Election 2015? If so, we are looking for junior writers to provide short pieces for us in the run up to May.

BRIT POLITICS is a fast-growing educational, news and analysis site all about British politics and political history. We provide free learning tools right up to university level, interviews, speeches and quotes for anyone interested in these fascinating subjects. We also aim to get younger people engaged in politics and voting.

Successful candidates will be asked to submit two pieces of approx. 750 words selected from the areas below. Ideally these will be a combination of video and copy but this is not essential.

Candidates chosen will receive £100 once both pieces have been approved and published.

Subject areas:

1. The importance of voting: Why it matters?
2. What will be the outcome of the General Election and why?
3. Do you have an interesting constituency battle? Can you provide a profile about the area and an election night prediction
4. A party profile; analysis of their leader, policies and chances of victory
5. A single key election issue that is topical and interests you
6. A historical piece about elections and voting in Britain that you are passionate about e.g. votes for women

This is a great opportunity to enhance your CV and no previous experience is required. We have an active social media profile and will promote your work.

Email us at with a few lines about you and the subjects (1-6) you would like to write or talk about. Please provide a very brief outline about the points you would make in each one.

Closing date: 19 February 2015

We will acknowledge all applicants and please use the same email address above if you have any queries. Pieces to be submitted in March and April 2015 at specific dates agreed with each successful junior writer.
