Cabinet and the Great Offices of State
In the Summer of 2016, David Cameron stepped down as Prime Minister following the UK's decision to leave the European Union. Theresa May became Prime Minister and set about creating her cabinet. The biggest changes were to remove George Osborne as Chancellor and create two new posts of Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union and Secretary of State for International Trade.
Following the General Election, in May 2015, David Cameron was returned as Prime Minister with a Conservative majority of 12. Leaving coalition government behind him, Mr. Cameron appointed his first all-conservative cabinet.
